That craven coward Vladimir Putin is censoring the brilliant, courageous and patriotic research of former Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov reviewing Putin’s record in office, which Dave Essel has translated into English and published on this blog. We demand this outrage cease immediately.

That is a good point, you can’t turn the masses to your side by
first of all: calling them idiots for voting for him
second of all: neglecting the fact that after Yeltsin left, people were desperate to vote anybody who promised prosperity
And a final note: countries with shuttered economies like Russian in 1990s don’t suddenly turn all democratic and consumer liberal, unless they sell out their businesses and factories to American capitalists like in Cuba.
the last point was a bit of a rush, excuse me, there is no democracy in Cuba, but what I wanted to say, is poor cubans had to sell away their shares of national enterprises

Права человека в Грузии
В ноябре 2007 года для подавления выступлений оппозиции власти использовали отряды спецназа. 7 ноября спецназовцы начали стрелять в них резиновыми пулями и применили слезоточивый газ. Затем полицейские начали преследовать разбегавшихся людей, избивая их дубинками, ногами и палками. В больницы Тбилиси были доставлены сотни пострадавших. Human Rights Watch: “грузинские власти перешли черту, когда полиция преследовала и избивала мирных демонстрантов и терроризировала журналистов.”
Среди избитых полицией были лидеры оппозиции, журналисты и омбудсмен Грузии Созар Субари, который сказал: «Я видел, как дубинками избивали лежачих людей. Пытался остановить их, но меня самого жестоко избили», «Грузия превратилась в страну, где права человека не защищены на элементарном уровне».
В тот же день несколько сотен вооружённых полицейских ворвались в помещение оппозиционной телекомпании «Имеди». Угрожая автоматами, полиция приказала лечь на пол журналистам и персоналу телеканала. Вещание было прервано, когда ведущие пытались рассказать о нападении в прямом эфире. Большинство студий канала и значительная часть аппаратуры подверглись уничтожению. Против собравшихся у здания сотрудников и сочувствующих вновь был использован спецназ, который применил слезоточивый газ, резиновые пули и дубинки.

Я, хоть и не постоянный читатель, но всё же выскажу свое мнение. На ваш блог попал практически случайно. Однако нашел много чего нового и интересного. Так что, как говорится, пиши еще :)
Такие люди как Немцов в РОССИИ не пройдут. У нас теперь достаточно сознательных граждан чтобы дать под зад этим друзьям западных демократий.

Not everybody knows that formerly Mr Putin was a KGB-man in East Germany.
It sounds like the people who run this site do not really hate the Russian way of life, but they do genuinely hate anyone who is ever so slightly different from them in their perceptions … It is very Russian indeed… This attitude has not brought much happiness to the people of Russia or indeed neighbouring countries so far. Same old adage of ‘destroy the old world and build a new one on its ruins…’ Well, the ‘destroy’ bit usually works, which, sadly, cannot always be said about the ‘build’ bit… Positivity may help, comrades
Agreed, Anna. It can be beautiful and wonderful to criticize and destroy, but it is harder to criticize positively and build something.
Also, I will take the Obama administration’s realist foreign policy over the previous administration’s neoliberal (that is, neoconservative in the U.S.) approach any day of the year. Obama is far from a naive Russophile as some are apparently accusing him of, but he has firmly rejected Bush’s failures due to neoliberal (neoconservative) foreign policy, which has striking similarities with communist foreign policy in its totalitarian zealotry.
