EDITORIAL: Racism, Corruption and Insurrection in Putin’s Russia

EDITORIAL

Racism and Insurrection in the Russian Army

In our last issue we carried two items illustrating the dire consequences of unchecked power being given to Russia’s cadre of spies and its police officers.  Today, we turn our attention to the Russian military.

Last week we were appalled and terrified by the spectacle that unfolded in the Siberian city of Perm.  The indispensable and brilliant Paul Goble, translating from the Russian press, reports how Russian army units there are in open rebellion against their officers because large numbers of the young recruits are Muslim and they face daily oppression from their racist Slavic “brothers.” What the Kremlin does not seem to have noticed while ignoring this scathing, barbaric racism is that its victims are being armed and trained to kill.

The upshot of the rebellion was the Russian officers were forced to turn to Muslim clerics and beg for their assistance in quelling the insurrection.

We’ve previously reported on how Russia is rapidly becoming a Muslim nation.  But it would be a mistake to think that Russia’s Slavic legions have any intention of letting a pesky little think like reality influencde their actions. This means that Russia is a powder keg of racial hostility and tension waiting to explode, and that the Russian army will feel the first devasting impact of that explosion.

Yet the same issue pervades every aspect of Russian society.  Slavic Russians are quite simply incapable of accommodating the incursion of Chinese from the East and Muslims from the South, yet they are also incapable of living independent of these “invaders.”  Sooner or later, this reality will undermine the foundations of Russia society and bring the nation, once again, crashing down in collapse.

  1. You’ve made me smile really with this:
    – “Yet the same issue pervades every aspect of Russian society. Slavic Russians are quite simply incapable of accommodating the incursion of Chinese from the East and Muslims from the South, yet they are also incapable of living independent of these “invaders.” Sooner or later, this reality will undermine the foundations of Russia society and bring the nation, once again, crashing down in collapse.”

Let me convert the lines into something more American replacing several words: Here we go. — “Yet the same issue pervades every aspect of American society. Anglos are quite simply incapable of accommodating the incursion of Chinese from the East and Mexicans from the South, yet they are also incapable of living independent of these “invaders.” Sooner or later, this reality will undermine the foundations of the US society and bring the nation, once again to civil war, crashing down in collapse.”
Not so bad? You are welcome to Hongcouver in Canada and Los Angeles in the US to witness it. Why the Russians only in this context to be blamed in your editorial?
Yet, there’s another “Let me” – Let me kindly remind you of two Apartheid walls in Aztlan and in Palestine. And you call it “The Free World”?
Russia is but a lamb going far behind after the US/Israel advanced nazi practices with all their border minutemen volunteers celebrating of homosexuality.

    P.S.
    Viva Aztlan Reconquista!

  4. rts,
You better start learning chinese and fast – chinese reconquista is almost accomplished…It is such a fiendish pleasure for EVERYBODY to see russia dying such an ugly death…..

aaausa, little runt: Unlike the Russians, the Yanks have a MUCH bigger problem in that they cannot be taught ANYTHING of substance. It is as though your ilk has a genetic trait rendering hard work, learning, and exercise completely anathema to you. Ergo: Give me the Chinese anytime, I’d say. They contribute significantly to prosperity and development, most notably in the Third World. USA off the planet!

  5. To rts: pointing out USA’s own failures (while they certainly to exist) is a bad strategy in this case. People who write here want to discuss Russia. It is their right to do so, isn’t it?

However, some points of the article need clarification. For example, mentioning “racist Slavic brothers”. First, since when Muslims became a race to call this conflict racist? Second, Muslims served in Russian, Soviet, and again Russian army since at least 16th century. However, major conflicts on religious grounds never arose.

What has changed to bring this event to life?

There is a thing, however, that has indeed changed recently. Russian military began receiving conscripts from Chechnya. These proud highlanders tend to dislike the ideas of cleaning their uniforms, barracks, and doing other chores required of any disciplined soldier (a work for a woman, not for a warrior!). Logically, in those divisions where they were represented in numbers, they began forcing others to do these things for them. Their traditions of banding together and mutual tribal support are a way better developed compared to those of Slavic soldiers, so for a while their tactics was succesful. However, this time they’ve gone too far and underestimated the resolve of those they tried to mistreat. So the proud Chechenyan warriors got beaten in a fight that included roughly 50 people from each side.

After which, they immediately began complaining about non-tolerant evil Russians. Which don’t want to clean uniforms and toilets for them, and – think of it, how horrible! – fight back, and hard.

  6. Nice try, GIPS,

Let’s have a reality check – the russian instigated putsch in Kyrgyzystan turned tragic for poor russians – in the beginning Kyrgyzand Uzbeks killed each other, as russians planned and expected but when when Kyrgyz and Uzbeks started little pogroms of Russians – that is a reality – YOU LOST WHOLE CENTRAL ASIA TO CHINA

  7. “Nice try, GIPS,”
    Thank you.

Speaking of your reality check, I am failing to see how the facts your bring are relevant to my post. Events in Kyrgyzystan had political reasons, not racist or religious.

Central Asia, to my view, is more like “no man’s land” now. If this whole region is controlled by China, then what are USA troops doing in Afghanistan (which was situated in Central Asia last I heard)?

Besides, as hard as I try, I can’t see logic in your statements that Chinese illegal immigration should bring Russia to demise.

These immigrants leave their homeland in hopes of finding a better income and living. Many of them quickly learn Russian. (I can imagine their relief… now they’d only need to learn 33 letters instead of thousands hyeroglyphs). Therefore, even if China begins seriously considering an insane idea of trying to take some pieces of Siberia by force, those people still wouldn’t pose an inner threat because they DON’T want back into China.

Unlike Chechenyans, who mostly form an influx to crime world, Chinese form a labour force – so much needed in rebuilding that distant region.

Then what? The perspective of Russian blood becoming more “asian”? Why should that bother me? I am not a racist.

  8. For me Russia means Eurasia which seems to be the answer to many futher definitions that could be made here. G.I.P.S. with his/her “The perspective of Russian blood becoming more “asian”? Why should that bother me? I am not a racist.” – very, very close to the truth in my humble opinion.

Eurasia = China+India+Russia to name a few. In this connection Russia seems to the US imperialism to be the weakest link to be broken in the chain
to dominate the Heartland of modern civilisation. For this reason Russia is #1 on the US hit list. The problem is the US cannot change geography no matter how hard it tries and the peoples of Euarasia are well aware about the hard core nazi mentality of the American ruling class and its primitive “Big stick” tactics in the battle for wealth concentrated in the area. The Russians, the Chinese and the Indians are brothers not in blood but in their common space in the face of the US consuming spider.
