Happy Mother’s Day in Russia . . . NOT!

Last week a commenter pointed to a recent survey by Save the Children which ranked the 43 “more developed” nations of the world in terms of their suitability for motherhood.

Only five of them were found less suitable than Russia. That’s right, Vladimir Putin’s Russia was more hostile than 37 of the 43 “more developed” nations of the world.

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day in the USA. Russians, for their part, don’t even have have a holiday devoted to mothering.  And one can readily see why.  Happy Mother’s Day, Russians!

In other words, Russia is in the bottom 15% of all developed nations when rated for treatment of mothers and children.  Suck on that for a while, Russophile rabble.  Do you believe Save the Children is a bastion of Russophobic bias, even as you believe the proud KGB spy who rules Russia releases data that can be believed?  Are you that hysterically insane?

This news can come as no surprise to readers of this blog, who know that one Russian woman is murdered by her husband every half an hour and that Russia leads the world in rate of abortions and suicides.  Russia is, in other words, nothing short of a meat grinder for women and children, and these statistics say nothing about the brutal emotional abuse inflicted by drunken, violent, selfish Russian men.  The only comfort for Russian women, it seems, is that these brutes are not likely to live to see their sixtieth year.

Little wonder, then, that Russia does not rank in the top 100 nations of the world for fertility.  What sane woman would want to bring new life into a world so brutally cold and hostile?

  1. LR forgot to mention that US is on the disgraceful 28th place in this record. According to it, US is more hostile to children than Greece, Czech Republic and Croatia. Interestingly, from the less developed countries, Cuba is on the first place, despite the american long-term blocade and tyranny.

So you agree that because Russia is far below the USA, it is just as pathetic and wretched as the US is compared to Greece or Czech Republic! Thanks for the confirmation!

Is it just fine with you if Russia is destroyed as long as the US is also destroyed? That’s pretty sick, if so. Why do you hate Russians so much?

      • No, why do YOU hate Russians so much?

You don’t just disagree with the policies of the Russian government, but throughout your entire blog you show contempt for the Russian people.

        • larussophobe

Only a Russian ape thinks you should praise people when they are doing the wrong thing.

When you really care about someone, you do whatever it takes to stop them from destroying themselves and to make them do the right thing and take responsibility for there errors.

It’s those who show contempt who have respect and who believe they can do better. It’s apes like you who believe they cannot who show them real hatred.

It’s because Russian idiots like you can’t understand this that Russia languishes in the backwaters of civilization and does not rank in the top 100 nations of the world for life expectancy.

Morons like you invite only more failure.

  2. and the most shame is on “democratic” Georgia which is on 43th place among “less developed countries” : Georgia is more hostile to its children than Iran, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela! Poor georgian kids!

    • larussophobe

Thanks for confirming AGAIN that a low place on this list is a national disgrace, and that Russia is no better than Georgia in its group of nations!

      • No I didn’t confirmed that. Russia’s rank is comparable to Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Malta, while the Georgia’s rank is shared by Iran, Botswana, Libya, and Namibia. See the difference, baby?

        • Thanks for confirming that Bulgaria and Russia are equals. Bulgaria, of course, isn’t on the G-8 or the UN Security council, and neither should Russia be!

You make our arguments better than we do ourselves! Thanks for the support!

    • Stupid, we’re speaking about children safety, all your links are irrelevant. Georgia is one of the most hostile in the world places for children.

      • And Russia is one of the most hostile developed nations in the world for children.

Georgia has the excuse that it was exploited and brutalized by Russia. What is Russia’s excuse?

Don’t you realize that any intelligent person can see you are trying to change the subject because this news is so brutally humiliating for Russia? Do you really think you can fool anybody on this blog with such childish antics?

You can’t defend Russia’s conduct towards mothers and children at all. That speaks volumes about what Russia really is.

        • “And Russia is one of the most hostile developed nations in the world for children.”
          “What is Russia’s excuse?”

Russia’s excuse is that you lie.

  4. Georgia have improved since 1990- 2009
    (41 -16 )– 25 (deaths/1,000 live births)

    SOVOK-UNION have improved
    13 (deaths/1,000 live births)

Georgia are improving in a much speedier rate
    12 (deaths/1,000 live births) since 1990

Your Sovok -union are probably behind Georgia 2020 if the Putin -mafia do not start a new war .

    • “10.66 births/1,000 population”

      Seriously?

Georgian used to have many kids in the USSR, what happened?

  8. It’s awful indeed that Russia has such a bad situation with mothering and yes, it’s not a good place to bring up your children.
But hey, Russians DO HAVE Mother’s Day. It’s just celebrated in November, not May.

  9. The bit about Russia not having a mother’s day is completely off-topic, it’s akin to claiming Russia is somehow deficient because we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving or most of the other American holidays. Really, imho, the post would have been much better without this jibe about mother’s day.
I mean we do celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, it’s an official bank holiday here and all, it doesn’t stop Russian society from being extremely sexist and discriminating against women (and sometimes men), especially in the workplace and I doubt if having an official mother’s day would do much to improve the situation with how mothers and children are treated here, and with how people tend to treat each other here in general, for that matter.
