NOTE: The always brilliant journalists at Pravda report the pulse-pounding story that the U.S. will attack Russia within 3-4 years. It was the lead story on the Pravda website last weekend. How do they know? Because NATO is building bases in Bulgaria and Romania with 2,000 soliders each (no source, of course) and because . . . wait for it . . . the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is teaching Russian language (no source, of course). Pravda says it started teaching Farsi Arabic 3-4 years before the invasion of Iraq, so the proof is conclusive. That Barack Obama is clearly one dangerous man.
FYI, the article in Pravda said Arabic language, as it should be, in relation to Iraq. Farsi is spoken in Iran. Other than that, the story gets thin.
Thanks for the correction!
Is there such a thing as journalism school in Russia? Apparently not… America will put military bases in Romania and Bulgaria in order to invade Russia and secure oil and gas from the Caspian region. Could Pravda (or the Kremlin) at least hire some professionals to run its propaganda operation? That is pathetic.
Shane, I agree.
Russia can be assured that the United States will never invade them. We have enough wards of the state originating from their “conquests”.
Taking their natural resources would never compensate us for the humanitarian crisis that we would inevitably be attributed to us.
Still working on the proofreading. Please have patience.
Actually, West Point has been teaching Russian since 1995. They also teach German, Spanish, French, etc. I guess that means we are planning on invading the whole world.
These morons just don’t realize that in the U.S. all service academies are also colleges and like any college offer hundreds of courses and classes including Russian. In the minds of these “journalists” learning foreign languages must be a sinister and hostile activity.
I do not like this story. Russian leaders since Stalin often assign their own intentions as plans of their opponents. If the same kind of story will occur in something more “serious” like rian.ru or ITAR-TASS, I would be deeply concerned.
Pravda is a Russian tabloid of course (UFO news-type tabloid). I just posted this link in another thread: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/news-according-russia.php
But then there is Russia Today, which is the Russian government tabloid news service. (RIAN’s for semi-serious stuff.) And becuase RT is quite exactly like Pravda (and mind you, they aimed to be “the Russian CNN” or what not) just with a TV channel (which is almost like GroznyTV) and allegedly more budget and much more anti-western propaganda, I guess they had a story like this one already.
Why America can start a new world war? Because the West had already unleashed world war many times: Germany – 2 times; England (with handouts of America) – the last Cold War. And, finally, America is fighting in the Middle East last 20 years. But America is only the beginning: a huge foreign debt and ongoing issue of dollars into the global economy have led to the fact that America would can not have to pay to the world.
How to be America with this problem?
Maybe a few options: either America declares itself bankrupt (with all the attendant consequences);
either starts a global war. The signs of this are there already: the first step – the information war;
Second – Setting up of Russia’s neighbors against Russia;
third – buildup of military forces around Russia.
America will not to do “dirty work” with his hands (at least initially), but give it to his faithful dogs such as Saakashvili and his friend Yushchenko.
Really Viktor, you are such a comedian.
Georgia and Ukraine are both far too small to be a threat to Russia.
It is Russia that was and is a threat to its nieghbors, due to the imperialistic dreams of glory still sadly harbored by its people.
Nobody said that Georgia and Ukraine a threat to Russia. America uses them as a platform for future action.
Last time I checked, WWII was started by both Germany and the U.S.S.R, each by attacking Poland on September 1 and 17, 1939, respectively. So, when you are writing that Germany started 2 wars, don’t forget that at least one of those times was a joint German-Soviet effort. You would not deny by any chance that the U.S.S.R. did attack and annex Eastern Poland, would you?
Yes, the Soviet Union really was wanted to extend its borders, thereby preparing for a future war with Germany, which was inevitable.
I’ve never been a fan of Stalin – he killed a lot of Russian people (and not only Russian).
But this example of Poland is very revealing: U.S. now has the same policy toward Russia that Stalin against Poland in the thirties.

Drew Zahn, writing for WorldNetDaily, takes issue with Infowars declaring Obamas national emergency amounts to martial law. An article by Kurt Nimmo of InfoWars took the worry a step further, wondering if the White Houses declaration engaged certain measures of the National Emergencies Act, writes Zahn. But even if there really is a plot to manipulate the H1N1 virus scare into enforcing a sweeping expansion of federal power, todays national emergency falls far short of martial law.

A state of emergency (regardless of the pretext) allows Obama to do a number of things. As Dr. Harold C. Relyea, a specialist in national government with the Congressional Research Service (CRS) of the Library of Congress, has written, when the President formally declares a national emergency, he may seize property, organize and control the means of production, seize commodities, assign military forces abroad, institute martial law, seize and control all transportation and communication, regulate the operation of private enterprise, restrict travel, and, in a variety of ways, control the lives of United States citizens.
Obamas declaration, however, is incidental because the United States has been under a state of emergency since September 14, 2001. Bush extended this emergency (against a bogus terrorist threat) on August 28, 2008.
Will President Obama allow the state of national emergency, first declared by President George W. Bush on 9/14/01 and re-declared seven times, to remain in effect? asked Peter Dale Scott and Dan Hamburg on February 10, 2009.
On September 10 of this year, Obama reinstituted the national State of Emergency.

Dammit, can the US at least invade a real country? Like, say, Venezuala, which at least has nice beaches. Afghanistan’s a hellhole, and Iraq’s all sand and no surf. And now Russia? What are we going to do with it, rent it to the Chinese?

Reports: Case opened against Russian activist
By JIM HEINTZ (AP) – 16 hours ago
MOSCOW — A lawyer for Chechnya’s strongman president said Tuesday that a criminal libel case carrying possible prison time has been opened against one of Russia’s most prominent human rights activists, news agencies reported.
The report of the case against Oleg Orlov, chairman of the Memorial group, comes less than a week after the European Union awarded its top human-rights honor, the Sakharov Prize, to Orlov and two other activists.

The new case underlines the pressures faced by beleaguered Russian rights activists who have sharply criticized the government’s policies in Chechnya and elsewhere but have been stonewalled by the Kremlin.
The Kremlin has strongly backed Kadyrov, whose security forces have been accused of abuses against civilians amid the fight against militants still active in Chechnya after two separatist wars over the last 15 years.
Actually there is no need for an invasion. America has successfully tested a mind control device that will turn even the most ignorant, gullible, belligerent, and recalcitrant people into willing slaves. It is called Project Moonbeam and has been tested, covertly, around the world with stunning success. The only known defense to Project Moonbeam mind control waves is to wear an aluminum pot, at least ¼ meter thick on the head. Aluminum is the only known material that will prevent penetration of these mind control beams into the human brain. Mind control beams will be transmitted from satellites, telephones, televisions, and radios that the Americans have compromised by infiltrating the Kremlin, FSB, entertainment, telecommunications, and Russian military establishments with spies, sympathizers, and agent provocateurs. These saboteurs are paid well by the Americans for their treachery against the Russian people and state.
Don’t get upset, Khan. Get prepared. Here is an inexpensive and fashionable attire that will protect you:

Tin Foil Hat
Typically made with aluminum foil, this head-gear protects the wearer’s brain from the effects of mind control and can block the intrusions of mind readers. An effective and low-cost solution to combating mind-control, it is popular among less wealthy paranoids. It can block RF waves from local radio and TV stations. Also known by the more technical term “Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie” (AFDB).
An excerpt from the definitive online AFDB work, http://zapatopi.net/afdb.html :
An Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie (AFDB) is a type of headwear that can shield your brain from most electromagnetic psychotronic mind control carriers. AFDBs are inexpensive (even free if you don’t mind scrounging for thrown-out aluminum foil) and can be constructed by anyone with at least the dexterity of a chimp (maybe bonobo). This cheap and unobtrusive form of mind control protection offers real security to the masses. Not only do they protect against incoming signals, but they also block most forms of brain scanning and mind reading, keeping the secrets in your head truly secret. AFDBs are safe and operate automatically. All you do is make it and wear it and you’re good to go! Plus, AFDBs are stylish and comfortable.
What are you waiting for? Make one today!
The TinFoilHat is not the sole domain of paranoiacs. It has a long, respectable, and scientific history, as attested in “The Tissue-Culture King” by Sir Julian Huxley, published in The Yale Review Apr 1926 and Amazing Aug 1927:
Well, we had discovered that metal was relatively imperivous to the telepathic effect, and prepared for ourselves a sort of tin pulpit, behind which we could stand while conducting
An excellent strategem by the GrandConspiracy – make those paranoid enough to believe in them wear a device for focussing mind-control rays.
——————————————————————————–
Q: Does it have a self-powered propeller to cool the head?
A: No, it depends on the wearer to remain calm.
——————————————————————————–
Q: Does the reflective side of the tinfoil go in or out?
A: If you make it two-layered with one in and one out, it leaves only those that can live in the void between the two the control.
——————————————————————————–
Don’t forget that you have to ground the hat to get the desired effect. Use good quality copper braid.
Science is not a strong point among the paranoid.
Someone has their Tin Foil Hat on too tight!
Q: You IvoryTower academics think you’re so smart, but you fail to come up with practical solutions. How am I supposed to ground my AFDB from inside a rubber room?
A: Conductive (silicon) rubber?

Don’t forget, the more tin foil, the better the radar cross section, so we can track you. What you really need is a StealthTinFoilHat.

Tin foil hat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A tin foil hat is a piece of headgear made from one or more sheets of aluminium foil or similar material. Alternatively it may be a conventional hat lined with foil. Some people wear the hats in the belief that they act to shield the brain from such influences as electromagnetic fields, or against mind control and/or mind reading.
The concept of wearing a tin foil hat for protection from such threats has become a popular stereotype and term of derision; the phrase serves as a byword for paranoia and is associated with conspiracy theorists.
