Sergei Karaganov, Neo-Soviet Cockroach

We know, you think we're kidding. But we're not. This is really him! We swear!

We know, you think we're kidding. But we're not. This is really him! We swear!

Writing in the Moscow Times last week Sergei Karaganov,  chairman of the presidium of the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy and dean of the School of International Economics and Foreign Affairs of the Higher School of Economics, claimed that the new cold war is all the West’s fault.

That’s right:  Russia bears no blame whatsoever for electing a proud KGB spy president, barbarically torturing Chechnya, murdering dissidents, wiping out free media, crushing opposition political parties and eviscerating federalism.  It’s all our fault.

It’s Russia’s version of the “reset,” showing Barack Obama exactly how Russia feels about his outstretched hand. His essay was, of course, full of shameless, cowardly, neo-Soviet lies and reads as if it was intended to be read by a clan of apes.

Karaganov writes that the Russian people “vanquished communism.”  That’s a lie. They did no such thing.  Communism collapsed of its own fetid weight and corruption, most Russians did not lift a finger to oppose it. In fact, many of them ratted out their neighbors for personal gain or just for the fun of it.

He writes that “the leaders of the United States and Germany had promised Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev that NATO would not expand eastward.” Another lie.  No such promise was ever made, and two nations could never speak for NATO even if they had been made. And how about Russian promises?  Didn’t Russians promise not to go back to KGB rule?  Didn’t they promise to let countries like Georgia be free from Soviet tanks?  How can Russians expect the West to honor its word when Russia so clearly won’t?

He writes: “For all of NATO’s efforts to improve its image, many Russians now view it as a much more hostile organization than they did in the 1990s — or even before then.”  Yet he never asks whether Russia might have done things (say, buzzing Alaska with nuclear bombers every other day) to make the West fear Russian aggression.

He writes that NATO was expanded for “geopolitical” reasons, yet he never asks why the nations of Eastern Europe hated Russia so much that they were eager to join, indeed begging to do so.  Why wasn’t the new Russian government able to put their minds at ease? He doesn’t care to even try to answer that question.

Then it really gets ugly. Just look at this:

My hope is that when historians look back at Georgia’s attack on South Ossetia last summer, the Ossetians, Russians and Georgians killed in that war will be seen as having not died in vain. Russian troops crushed Georgia’s army on the ground, but they also delivered a strong blow against the logic of further NATO expansion, which, if not stopped, would have inevitably incited a major war in the heart of Europe.

So Russia was entirely blameless in the war. It didn’t attack Georgian territory, it didn’t kill civilians with illegal weapons, it didn’t threaten the democratically elected leader of the country, and it didn’t fail to silence Ossetian guns that had been shelling Georgia for months prior to the Georgian “attack.”  History is what the Kremlin says it is, you see.

And, oh yes, he’s proud of how Russia “crushed” a country less than one tenth its size.

He refers to “the farcical idea of a new Cold War into proper perspective.”  Perhaps Russians find it farcical because their coastline is not being buzzed by nuclear bombers they way America’s is, and because their government honchos get to write screeds like Karaganov’s in the English press whenever they want but Americans are denied this privilege in the Russian press.

Throughout his entire diatribe, there is not one single word about any mistakenly aggressive policy of Russia.  Russia is, throughtout, the totally innocent victim of Russian aggression, struggling heroically towards peace despite all  our evil acts.

This is the full horror of neo-Soviet reality, no different than it was in Soviet times.  Russian bigwigs are ever more totally cut off from any semblence of reality, obsessed with propaganda, lies and self-deception in the desperate hope that they can fool the people of Russia as well.

  1. “Sergei Karaganov, Neo-Soviet Cockroach”

The first US proxy war on Russia has failed one year ago. Calling the ruskies bad names if you can’t fight them in the field is a sure sign of post-traumatic stress disorder. Yes, I mean the US, not lamed by the Russian army weeping proxi clown Saakashvili. Not a pretty sight.

As a matter of fact the Soviet Union has been transformed from a country with a clumsy socialist economy into a smart, aggressive, and strong-willed imperial state of Putin’s Russia.
Well, the race is on and here comes Russian pride.

  2. Just watched a bit of Vesti to get pumped up. Well if these idiots would have allowed foreign journalists to cover from the Russian side maybe they wouldn t be looking so ridiculous blaming western coverage. No, its much better to kill them when they supposed to cover chechnya. The level of absurdity is so high , am in rage, and it does match the day when putin congratulates yanukovich for presidential election. losers.

  3. Hey RTS, did your mother have any chilldren that lived?

  4. Quote rts”Well, the race is on and here comes Russian pride.”

“A man’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor. ” (By wiser men than you or I)

Kinda “Pride goes before the fall”?
I see this proverb more in the connection with the most hated superpower in the world – the bombing nation of talmudic USA.

“Hey RTS, did your mother have any chilldren that lived?”

Let your imagination run wild, buddy and invent up something fresh and out of the range to steer my emotions up. I am more than advanced in years and love to see and hear idiots since I remeber myself. They make our serious life look grand funny.

“Have you ever read Talmud? Do you know what’s it about? Were you raised anti-Semitic or is it a part of your Russian culture?”
    ——————————————-

    1. Yes I have. The best book ever compiled on the hypocrisy of Jewish supremacism is the Talmud. The Talmud even supercedes the Torah in authority and intensifies the Torah’s chauvinism.

    2. Why is any criticism of Jewish Supremacism immediately condemned as “anti-Semitism”? The chronic media recital of the horrors of the Holocaust has made the term “anti-Semitic” morally equivalent to the endorsement of mass murder. The word itself shuts down reason and evokes heat rather than light. The word is flagrantly overused, it is even used against those who simply protest Israeli human rights violations against Palestinians.

Just tell me why do the Jews preach one morality for themselves and preach another for the non-Jewish world? Their highest morality is one of racial pride, solidarity, tradition and self-interest. But they preached diversity and liberalism for their perceived competitors. If such dualism did not exist, how could the Jewish-dominated American media:

•Support the nation of Israel, which promotes Judaism in its schools, while opposing even the singing of Christmas carols in American public schools?

•Support the nation of Israel, which has strictly segregated schools, communities, and facilities for Jews and Arabs – while condemning segregated schools and housing in America?

•Support the nation of Israel, with its restrictive “Jews Only” immigration laws, while subverting American attempts to curtail even illegal immigration?

•Support the nation of Israel, which allows every Jewish citizen to carry a machine gun if desired, while advocating gun control for American citizens?

•Support the nation of Israel, which openly states its mission to preserve the Jewish people and heritage, while condemning European Americans who dare to advocate the preservation of the Western heritage and culture in America based on Christian values?

•Always depict the historical relations between Jews and Gentiles with the Gentiles as evildoers and the Jews as innocent victims, while condemning Gentiles as “anti-Semites” if they dare defend themselves from such ethnic slanders?

Having these questions answered you’ll have a privelege to talk about the Russian culture. It seems easy, isn’t it?
Go ahead or shut up on “anti-semitism” and Russia. Ignorance is a sin.

    • Once I heard about “Jewish-dominated media” I did not have to read the rest of your invective. Even such notorious a figure as Pat Buchanan refrains from using this particular slur.

You used the expressions favored by Dr. Goebbels, and so I have the answer to my question whether your were raised anti-Semitic or whether it is a part of your Russian culture. I am now convinced it’s both.

For your information, for both Christians and Jews, no religious text supercedes Torah, which is true for Orthodox Russians. I am pretty secular, but you may ask around when attend your next Pogrom-planning meeting

    “rts, paranoid much?”

All of you here dear russophobes can’t answer simple questions about your own countries.
Blah, blah, blah and no conception or vision of the world of your own design in sight.
You can’t make a record when there’s nothing to say.

  9. I confess, when I read rts posts, it feels so good!

I dominate American banks, media, and Hollywood. I supply machine guns to Israel, and forced gun control laws in Europe and America.

I subverted immigration laws in Europe and America which led to millions Muslim immigrants all over Europe (hmm… this doesn’t make sense – but I never said that any of rts’ garbage makes sense, only that it makes me feel good).

Anyway, it’s Sunday, I am the ruler of the universe, and rts is my slave. Life is good!

  10. Just for record, cluster bombs (or any weapons) are “illegal weapons” only when a country joins a convention on banning them.

In this case it’s 107 countries:
