WELCOME TO LATVIA – THE LAND OF 21ST CENTURY APARTHEID!
At present, about a third of Latvia’s populations are so-called “aliens” who were deprived of basic civil rights because they, their fathers or grandfathers came to live in Latvia after its incorporation into the Soviet Union in 1940 (mostly Russians). Their status closely resembles that of the Jews in Germany of the 1930s an this semblance is not accidental: the veterans of Latvian SS units are honored as “fighters for independence” and their marches are attended by high-ranking state executives. So much for the “tolerant”, “politically correct” and “multicultural” EU whose member Latvia is!
